I don't think that's the reason, I think it's just because we could tell that she didn't really mean it. But that could be an interesting thing to study. The fact that we're don't really know each other personally; a fact that is clear all over the internet could very likely be one reason that most people aren't that bothered by insults on the internet.

Well, I personally just find sexism a joke as a whole.
If someone said a sexist joke aimed at girls I wouldn't really care because if you're serious about insulting over half the world's population then that's funny in its self xD.
I also have a tendency to have a misanthropic humour anyway, making jokes about people in general. I've been known to make sexist jokes about females too and people my age even though it's considered hypocritical xD.

Most people don't realise I'm sexist, as I make fun of men and women.

It's true diffrent genders aren't equal: men are better at somethings, women at others.

I don't know how I even came across the word but ever since it's entered my vocab I've been using it quite frequently(well more frequently than most people)... LOL.
I love poems by people who claim to be misanthropes.
You either take them seriously and end up really disturbed when you finish reading them or are rofling xD.
